What are the best methods for thawing my products?

Our products should always be thawed on a dish in the refrigerator in the vacuum-sealed package unless otherwise directed. This is the safest and best way to thaw food, and it allows the product to retain all of its natural juices, which are essential for exceptional flavor. Never thaw products at room temperature, in the microwave or under hot water.

Smaller items, such as steaks, chops and chickens will usually thaw within 24 hours in the refrigerator. Larger products, such as roasts, hams and turkeys may take 48-60 hours to fully thaw in the refrigerator. A general guideline is 5-6 hours per pound.

Thawed steaks and chops may be refrozen as long as they have remained refrigerated and have not been thawed longer than one day.

PLEASE NOTE: Sometimes the vacuum - package will leak while the product is thawing due to small pinholes that can occur during freezing and/or shipping. As long as it remained frozen and was refrigerated while thawing, this is not a concern; however, we recommend using a baking dish or pan to catch fluids.

How long do my products last in the fridge once thawed?

Our meat and poultry products last up to 12 months in the freezer. Once thawed, our meat and poultry products last 3 to 5 days in the refrigerator.

Can I recycle the shipping corrugated box?

The corrugated box can be recycled via normal curbside cardboard pickup.

Can I recycle the shipping pads?

REUSEABLE.
Don't just throw away your natural fiber shipping pads. Our liners (with and without the poly film) are nontoxic, hypoallergenic, and have no evidence of carcinogenicity. They are safe to reuse in many applications - such as a weed barrier, in a compost, and even as a pet bed. Get creative!

RECYCLEABLE.
Being made up of natural fibers, the liners can be recycled with other #60 textiles. The poly film is a low-density polyethylene resin that can be recycled at your local drop off location with other #4 plastics.

BIODEGRADABLE.
Natural Fiber Pads are biodegradable and compostable as tested by an independent third-party laboratory using ASTM test standards. Because cotton is a plant, it follows a normal cycle of nature. It will naturally go back to the soil from which it was made.
